BREAKTHROUGH WORKSHOP THEATRE in “THE MISCAST REVUE 2018”
Tuesday, January 9, 2018 8pm
One of San Diego’s rising educational theatre companies, Breakthrough Workshop Theatre (now in its 6th Season), presents The Miscast Revue 2018. It’s an exciting night of musical theatre repertoire as you have never seen it before, performed by a dynamic lineup of up-and-coming performers. At times wacky and conversely poignant, this concert will highlight artistic breakthroughs inspired when all expectations of gender, age, race and type are completely thrown out the window. Hilarious and touching, it’s a night you’ll never forget!
GET TO KNOW THE ARTIST
BREAKTHROUGH WORKSHOP THEATRE, with Founding Artistic Director Ira Bauer-Spector, has been producing theatre in San Diego for over 5 years. BWT’s mission is to provide theatre artists of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels with a chance to explore characters and collaborate on material that they would otherwise be unlikely to encounter.
In the first three seasons of work, BWT has produced 19 projects including musicals, plays, staged readings and concerts. They have presented work in the San Diego International Fringe Festival for three consecutive years, including most recently with the World Premiere of Thomas Hodges’ song cycle, THE THINGS WE NEVER SAY, which won the Fringe Award for “Outstanding Original Score,” was named by Pat Launer as one of the top five “Best in the Fest” and has a cast recording currently available on iTunes and Spotify.
Other BWT project highlights include MISS M SAVES THE UNIVERSE!, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, STEEL MAGNOLIAS, SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, our annual presentation of DEAR HARVEY, and various concerts at Martinis Above Fourth.
