Carolyn Agan

Carolyn Agan is a recent California transplant, having spent the last ten years building her career in the Washington, DC theatre scene. San Diego audiences may recognize her performance as Mother in San Diego Music Theatre’s production of Ragtime. She was a frequent guest performer at the DC musical theatre and spoken word cabaret La-Ti-Do as well as popular cabaret performances at Creative Cauldron and Signature Theatre.

Carolyn has shared the stage with national and international acts including Matthew Morrison, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Boyz II Men, Renee Fleming, 2Cellos, and once played tambourine for Martina McBride. Carolyn has had the pleasure of performing at some of the most renowned regional theatres in the country including Ford’s Theatre (The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee, Freedom’s Song, A Christmas Carol, Parade, Hello! Dolly, 1776, Liberty Smith), Shakespeare Theatre Company (Two Gents: A Rock Opera with Javier Muñoz and Arielle Jacobs), Olney Theatre Center (Little Shop of Horrors), and a national tour with The Kennedy Center. These theatres have given her the opportunity to work with some of the greatest directors, choreographers, and composers working in theatre today such as Jeff Calhoun, Spencer Liff, Amanda Dehnert, Peter Flynn, Eric Schaffer, Michael Weiner, and Marisa Michelson.

Carolyn is also an associated teaching artist with The Old Globe and La Jolla Playhouse, working with the next generation of theatre lovers.

Joining Carolyn will be local San Diego favorites Bryan Banville (SDMT’s The Producers & Ragtime, The Old Globe’s Camp David, and Cygnet’s Rocky Horror Picture Show), Jay Donnell (SDMT’S Ragtime & Smokey Joe’s Café, Disneyland California’s Frozen) and Athena Espinoza (Cygnet’s Company and vocal jazz quartet Corner Pocket).
