JOAN RYAN, winner of Broadway World’s Top Cabaret Artist Award and star of the audience and cult favorite, Ruthless Live!, marks her San Diego debut at Martinis Above Fourth on Thurs, Nov 15 at 8:00pm.

Sharing her amazing four-octave range and theatre anecdotes, both funny and poignant, audiences will be thrilled and delighted with songs from Broadway shows and Pop! From Stephen Sondheim to Rogers & Hammerstein, Stephen Schwartz to Lady Gaga, and the Beatles. In addition, Joan will perform career highlights from Ruthless, Little Shop of Horrors & more! With Musical Director Todd Schroeder and surprise guests.

Ms. Ryan has performed her dynamic one-woman shows to rave reviews and sold-out crowds from coast-to-coast. Her performance this evening follows her performances at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

When Joan Ryan starred in the Los Angeles premiere of the hit musical Ruthless! her reviews were stellar. “Joan Ryan delivers a smash portrayal…” Los Angeles Times. “Joan Ryan’s comic transformation is priceless…” states Entertainment Today. The L.A. Weekly wrote, “Joan Ryan is brilliant” and Dramalogue cited her as “…one of the most gifted actors around.”

Winner of Broadway World’s Top Female Cabaret Artist, Joan’s four-octave range has led to numerous leading roles in Little Shop Of Horrors, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Footloose, Les Miserables, Nunsense, Angry Housewives, Triumph Of Love, Nite Club Confidential, and the West Coast premiere of Stephen Sondheim’s Anyone Can Whistle. She originated the role of Judy Denmark/Ginger Del Marco in Ruthless! The Musical. She has also been featured in the annual star-studded S.T.A.G.E. fundraising shows benefiting Aids Project LA.

Joan’s self-titled debut solo recording continues to remain a best-selling CD. Other recordings include the cast albums of Ruthless!, Sondheim: A Celebration, A Salute To Stephen Schwartz, Lerner, Loewe, And Lane, Dream-the Music Of Johnny Mercer, and Jerome Kern’s Life Upon The Wicked Stage.

Television audiences know Joan from her long running role as Tina Pallodrino, the crazy music and arts teacher on the long running series Saved By The Bell. In addition to appearing in numerous commercials, pilots and television roles, Joan spent two years as Kathleen Houghton, everyone’s favorite psychiatrist, on The Young And The Restless and was featured on The Today Show and the Tonight Show. Joan can currently be seen as Patricia in the feature film Hot Guys with Guns. Variety shows include Forever Young with Jason Alexander and Kirstie Alley and One Night Only with Steve Carell, Forest Whitaker and Eric McCormack.

She made her featured debut at the Hollywood Bowl in Leonard Bernstein’s Mass. Joan was honored to have performed the National Anthem for The Lakers and the Harlem Globetrotters at the Staples Center. Her return to New York with her one woman show, Joan Ryan, Live! was met with both critical and public acclaim and continues to sell out around the country.
