Created by and starring Melinda Gilb and Steve Gunderson with musical arrangements by Steve Gunderson, The Melinda & Steve Show was first performed to sold out audiences at Don’t Tell Mama and The Duplex in New York City, and later played at Bryan Scott’s Triteria space and at the Theatre in Old Town in San Diego, as well as a run at Masquers Cabaret in LA. Gilb and Gunderson will perform new material as well as some “Greatest Hits” from their critically-acclaimed and wildly-popular cabaret shows, Melinda and Steve Show: A Revue of Unrelated Musical Events, Melinda and Steve Present Steve and Melinda, and Melinda and Steve Present Kevin and Kathy.
STEVE GUNDERSON co-created (with Kathy Najimy) and did the musical arrangements for Off Broadway’s critically acclaimed Back To Bacharach & David, which was revived at the Music Box in Hollywood with the participation of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. He co-wrote (with Melinda Gilb and Bryan Scott) and did the musical arrangements for Suds, which broke box office records at the San Diego Rep and Old Globe Theatre before moving Off Broadway.
He wrote an award-winning score for the musical Dixie Highway, and collaborated with Javier Velasco on The Brontes, and Everybody’s Talkin: The Music of Harry Nilsson, which will premiere at San Diego Rep and stars Tony Award winners Alice Ripley and Gregory Jbara.
Other collaborations include More Magic at Stage West in Canada and Two Rockin’ Gents at Hope Repertory Theatre. Acting credits include Off Broadway’s Forever Plaid, the National Tour of The Grapes of Wrath with Ed Harris, and roles in L.A. area productions at La Mirada Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse, Canon Theatre, Alex Theatre, Cabrillo Arts, Carpenter Center; New York productions at the Criterion Theatre, Steve McGraw’s, Second Stage Theatre, Equity Library Theatre, Arts Club Theatre; Regional productions at the Alliance Theatre (Atlanta), Golden Apple (Sarasota), Center Rep (Walnut Creek), Waterfront Theatre (San Francisco), McCallum Theatre (Palm Springs), Laguna Playhouse, Phoenix Little Theatre; and local area productions at the Old Globe Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Cygnet Theatre, North Coast Rep, Diversionary Theatre, San Diego Rep, Lambs Players Theatre, Welk Resort Theatre, New Village Arts, Fritz Theatre. KORRIE PALIOTTO is a Los Angeles-based music director, educator, and performing artist. She currently serves on the faculty at AMDA College and Conservatory of Performing Arts. Selected music direction credits include Everybody’s Talkin (San Diego Repertory Theatre), White Christmas (Gateway Playhouse), Phantom (Gateway Playhouse), The Who’s Tommy (San Diego Rep), Wild Party (Coronado Playhouse), and The Boy Friend (San Diego State University).
Korrie is also devoted to passing on the arts to the next generation and has led youth outreach programs at San Diego Opera, San Diego Junior Theatre, and Pacific Children’s Theatre. She holds a B.A. in Music (San Diego State University) and an M.F.A in Musical Theatre (San Diego State University).
ISAAC CROW is a local freelance bassist and percussionist. Originally from Alaska, Isaac moved to San Diego in 1984 and has worked as a musician/educator in San Diego since 1996. Isaac’s professional credits include performances with Cygnet Theater, San Diego Musical Theater, Lamb’s Players Theater, and Diversionary Theater.
In addition, he performed with Orchestra Nova on the premiere of Richard Thompson’s Jazz Concerto in 2011, as well as numerous seasons in the bass section of Opera Neo and the San Diego City Ballet. Isaac is a regular contributor to San Diego’s jazz scene. Isaac and his beautiful/talented wife live a happy life as musicians in the paradise city that is San Diego, CA.
